Clifton Stewart
The Space4
Before taking up my current lecturing positon I was the manager and sometimes curator of The Space4 Art Gallery in Peterborough.
The Space4 exhibited a large range of work with a focus on contemporary digital and new media work. Work ranged from Holograms to Installations, projections and digital photography through to innovative scultpural work. The website can still be seen at www.thespace4.org although it has not been updated in a while.
Highlights included projections and holograms of the singer David Bowie who was kind enough to sign some prints we had in a competition. I exhibited international work from established artists as well as new and emerging talent from the region and beyond.
The Space4 was also a multimedia production resource and I undertook many projects including a number of Heritage Lottery projects, as well as projects working with and dealing with social documentary, disadvantaged and at risk groups during the time I ran Space4.
A number of the photographs on this site are from a Heritage Lottery project called: Opening Doors to Hidden Heritage. This was my final project at The Space4 and was a multimedia project, website and gallery exhibition. I managed the project, was lead photographer and also the film maker and curator for the gallery exhibition.
